If you eat a lot of steak, the knife count is the first thing to settle. Our serrated sets come in 4, 6, and 8. Four covers a small household or a couple of nights a week. Eight handles a full table or a dinner party without washing between courses. Six sits in the middle, and it is the one most people land on. The steel is the same across all three sets, so you are choosing headcount, not quality.

All three knife sets are dishwasher safe. The serrations stay sharp through regular use and they glide through a thick cut without tearing. They will not replace a chef's knife, though. If you want one blade that dices, slices, and minces, this department is the wrong place to look. These are table knives, built for the plate.

The bamboo pieces serve a different need. The drawer organizer keeps up to sixteen knives separated and quiet, and it fits flat in a standard drawer. The block holds the same count upright on the counter. Both are pure bamboo, so they will not dull an edge the way a metal or glass slot can. Neither one is dishwasher safe. A damp cloth is all they ask for.
